About 20 years ago, a bunch of tourists found out that a perfect place to enjoy the full moon in Thailand was HaadRin Beach on Koh PhanGan, so they arranged a party on the crescent-shaped beach. From then, the originally small party became kind of a ritual and got bigger and bigger, with more and more people joining.
Today, the Full Moon Party is world-famous and each of them attracts between 10,000 and 20,000 people from all around the world.
The Full Moon Parties are reputed to be among the craziest ever. There are no barriers nor inhibitions there, just pure fun and people enjoying themselves.
Drinks are cheap, with the famous massive buckets that cost no more than US$ 5.
