Opera Bar is one of the most spectacular bars in Sydney and probably in all Australia. Located right next to the world-famous Opera House, it offers amazing views of Sydney’s harbour, including the Harbour Bridge. Opera Bar boasts the most enviable position in Sydney. Located on the lower concourse level of the Sydney Opera House, Opera Bar offers spectacular views of the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and all the wonders of the city skyline. Whether drinking or dining, Opera Bar provides the perfect setting for any occasion and coupled with a diverse food, wine and cocktail menu it leaves you spoilt for choice – drink or dine, inside or out, day or night.

Opera Bar is open 7 days a week from 11.30 am with live music nightly from 8.30pm and 2pm on weekends. Opera Bar has plenty of available seating and areas for large groups, inside and outside, however they do not take reservations – just come in, find a space and order your food and drinks at the bar. Lunch bookings for groups of 10 or more are taken Monday to Friday only.

If you’re just looking for a drink then take solace in our 20 metre long selection of spirits and liqueurs at the inside bar. Designed by Alec Tzannes, the impressive indoor bar offers patrons a variety of areas to enjoy a drink or people watch from comfortable ottomans, indulgent booths and shared drinking benches. If you prefer to take in the fresh air on the sun-drenched terrace or sip a cocktail under the stars then you can choose from up to three operating outdoor service areas.

Featuring over 45 wines by the glass, the innovative wine list encompasses a broad selection of fine Australian wines from most regions and a range of international wines to delight any palate. With such a diverse selection the wine matching option on the Pre Theatre menu will make choosing a wine that little bit easier. Alternatively, the wine savvy staff are always willing to suggest something you may not have tried before.

The cocktail list is a carnival of concoctions that will leave you spoilt for choice. With a thoughtful mix of seasonal flavours and trends Opera Bar’s cocktail list is famous for its boldness. Any visit to Opera Bar is not complete until you sample the signature Dirty Carpet Disco or Opera White Tea.

With it’s ‘open door’ policy Opera Bar is popular with groups for private celebrations and after work gatherings. It’s the perfect destination for any kind of drink, anytime.

Opera Bar serves the finest in modern Sydney cuisine with a comprehensive menu selection of seasonal main courses, tapas-style tasting plates for two and an assortment of other dishes to share. At Opera Bar you can dine alfresco with the best view in Sydney or for a more intimate setting the indoor area, in particular the private booths are popular. For larger groups one of the many communal tables are recommended. With a style of service that is informal (orders are placed at the bar and the food delivered directly to your table by the staff), Opera Bar is the perfect place to spend a long lunch, enjoy a casual dinner with friends or just grab a quick meal before a show. Opera Bar does not take reservations so come in, find a table and then place your order at the bar. For speedy service Opera Bar offers a special Pre Theatre Menu most evenings from 6pm until 8pm. Arrive at least an hour before your show to allow enough time to enjoy your dining experience.
